The extent to which improvements over time in breast cancer survival are related to earlier detection by mammography or to more effective treatments is not known. The study “Effect of Treatment and Mammography Detection on Breast Cancer Survival”- bottom line is that the extent to which improvements over time in breast cancer survival are related to earlier detection by mammography or to more effective treatments is not known BUT •Mammographic detection was associated with the greatest decrease in the risk of breast–cancer related mortality , followed by anti-hormonal therapy and taxane based chemotherapy.
